Unity is important for Christians and the church, but what are we actually unified around?

And what are some divisive things that can actually divide us?

today's episode of the Sheproose Faithful podcast. I'm really grateful you're here. If this is your

first time, welcome. This is a gospel-centered podcast, meaning I want to exalt the name of Jesus Christ.

He is the way, the truth, and the life. And no one comes to the Father except through him.

And that we are all born sinful. We are all terrible people. We're wretched in our sin, yet at the right time Christ died for the ungodly, that we might be reconciled

back to God and adopted as children to the Lord that he would be our father and we would be forgiven.

So this is all about Jesus and what he does for us and how, in light of the gospel, we are to live

faithfully to him. And today we're talking about unity and

division. Now, there are a million different directions that I could take this and so many things

we could talk about, including divisions that happen in the local body or disagreements that

people might have or what is worth leaving a church for. I'm not talking about that. I want to address a bigger picture here,

something that unites Christians and something that we need to be aware of, especially as there

is this drive right now to intermingle faiths for the sake of some global or national unity. There is a desire to put aside

quote-unquote differences and come together under a common mission and promote social justice.

And all religions are invited into this. And there was even an article that I read today

Jewish faith, even somebody from the Biden administration will be there to have this roundtable
