Recently, I heard an interview where a man defined gospel centered. And it was the best definition that I've heard. And it's really the why behind this podcast. I talk about how, you know, we are, everything we do is for God, for Christ and because of him. And we see that in scriptures. I just read it the other day in 1 Corinthians chapter 8 that talks about in the middle of talking about food sacrifice to idols. We have that God and Christ in the same verse are, you know what? Let me just read it because it's so good. 1 Corinthians 8.6, yet for us,

1:35.4

Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we exist. So that's gospel-centered,

1:41.6

that we live and exist because of God, because of Christ, but it also

1:46.5

means, and here's where this new definition, or it's not a new definition, but what I heard and loved,

1:51.1

is that we're living under the authority of Christ. It's not just, well, we are created to live

1:57.0

for him and because of him, and therefore we are under his authority. So Christ is our

2:03.6

authority. And that's why when we read the Bible, we're doing more than just checking it off the box.

2:08.9

We're getting to know the Lord, the master, the God of the universe, and learning how to submit

2:14.0

every part of our lives to his way, to him, because he's the authority.

2:19.0

We read the word and we're like, this is not our life, this is God, we exist for him.

2:23.7

We could try to go our own way, but we know it's not going to happen.

2:26.2

There are examples over and over in the scriptures of how that doesn't work out.
