Boy, how about the start of the 2021 season Salvador Perez is having for the Kansas City Royals?

Man, is this guy fun to watch right now?

Very exciting.

He hits the walk-off home run today in the second game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the

bottom of the seventh inning, seven inning games this year with double-headers because

of the rainout yesterday.

And it went a mile, 460 feet into the fountain.

Salvador Perez just connected with this pitch that he was sitting on right over the heart

of the plate and walks it off for the Royals who are now 8 and 5.

And they've won five of their last 7 playing some pretty good baseball right now,

and they, you know, my dad's talked about this a lot. They really haven't played great yet.

Game 1 today was a complete dud for the Royals as they lost it. They were no hit by Stephen

Mott's through five innings. And Mike Minor for the Royals, he wasn't awful. He did allow two runs with two outs. The Royals, in the top of the first, there were two outs, nobody on, and he goes on to allow two runs. I think he walked a guy, gave up a double in the gap, and the Blue Jays were able to score, too. They go on with a pair of solo homers after that.

And the Royals lose.

You just can't get down 4 to nothing early in a 7- inning game when the other team's

pitcher is just dealing.

You know, Mott's was carving the Royals up in this one, and we all remember Stephen Mott's

from game four of the 2015 World Series where the Royals beat him to win game four when

Mott's was with the Mets.

That was his rookie year with the New York Mets.
