Summary

In this episode of Don’t Miss This, Dave Butler and Grace Freeman study Deuteronomy 1–8; 15; 29–30; and 34 and step into a moment of remembering, as Moses looks back on a 40 year journey and prepares the people to enter the promised land. What could have been an 11 day trip became a lifetime of transformation, and Moses uses this final message to remind them not just where they have been, but who they have become. Through the wilderness, through provision, and through every moment of doubt and growth, God had been with them. Deuteronomy becomes a call to remember that they lacked nothing, that He fought for them, and that every step was shaping them into His people. This episode highlights the power of remembering and choosing God daily. From loving Him with all our heart, soul, and might, to living open handed and generous lives, to realizing that returning to Him is always possible, these chapters show a God who stays close. He is not far off. He invites His people to choose life, to trust His promises, and to carry their faith into every part of their lives. This episode invites us to look back on our own story and recognize where God has been present all along. Because like Moses, we may not always see the full promise yet, but we can trust the God who led us here. And when we choose to remember Him, we begin to see that we have never walked alone. Each week, we point out things in the scriptures that we love and think you don't want to miss. Thanks for listening. Hi, everyone. I'm Dave Butler. And I'm Grace Freeman. Welcome to Don't Miss This. When this episode airs, it'll probably be Grace's wedding day. Woo! I knew you were going to make that noise. I prophesied in my head. So that's our big news. You can't really be so excited. You can't really be so excited when it says that because it's like, in the microphone, people will be like, boom. They'll be like, boom. They'll be like, oh. Scare them in the car. We caused four wrecks today. Yeah. So a mini cheer, but a heart very excited. Yeah. So we're so excited about that. And we're also excited about Deuteronomy. That's the book that we're in today. And for some reason, we have to do the entire book of Deuteronomy, which is like 34 chapters in one day. So, buckle up, everybody.

1:00.1	Does anyone ever, do you make, have you made candy salad?
1:03.2	I don't like candy.
1:04.3	I'm just going to say it.

1:05.9	So it's candy salad is not for me, but.
1:07.2	Don't know what to get you for your wedding anymore.
1:10.5	So do you know what candy salad is? Yeah. Okay. Everyone brings something and you mix it all together. That part gives me just... I don't like it very much because some people want to mix in chocolate with the starbursts and I can't get into it. And I just like every candy won't taste as good. Yeah. So I don't like it, but I'm going to like it for today.
