I should begin with a disclaimer.

Jonathan, I have been on air for, I think, almost 11 hours straight.

So my ability to form sentences weakens at this late hour of Thursday.

But I will try. I really will try. It's immense.

I mean, long-time listeners are used to the marathon ordeal you have on election night, but perhaps

fewer of them, certainly outside Israel who don't see you, less aware that you do a kind of similar

length process when a new government is sworn in. And that's happened quite a lot in recent years, too.

Maybe, you know, and certainly now it's a big one. Huge amounts of attention this time,

it's fair to say, more than in past cases just because of the complexion of this government. I mean, fair to say again, that outside

Israel, particularly a lot of people feeling not that cheery with this news, despite the season

of goodwill and so on, this is being filed under sort of troubling news for a lot of people

watching Israel abroad, some figures who are taking ministerial posts in this government,

who from a section of the Israeli far right previously shunned as, you know, racist and unacceptable partners,

now they're in the centre of government. And that has caused alarm among a lot of people outside the country, including people
