Now. Now. Now, Oh, Coe-sam peoples are a group of culturally and ethnically linked peoples who live in the south of

the continent of Africa and who are therefore linked to the national politics of the country of South Africa, which we know to have had its struggles

when looking after the diverse mixture of ethnic identities that reside within its modern borders.

People's who are categorized as Koysan

are all too aware of this

and will also feel that the label Koysan

does not necessarily represent their own personal feelings about who they are with the word

Kui-San actually being a portmanteau of the ethnic identity words of Kui-oi and sann, who are two distinct cultures of these lands.

Due to the fact that they share cultural and linguistic similarities, it has become convenient for outsiders to refer to them as the Koesan.

But let's try to take some time to try to understand who these people are, the history of their cultures, and

how the various migrations and politics of the more modern times have shaped them into the

quisan that we refer to in the modern world.

In the modern and developed world we are fascinated by the cultures of the world around us and how they link us to aspects of our very being

and the Coycean cultures are viewed as one of the most ancient cultures on our planet

and are therefore very interesting for those of us

who are trying to learn about our past.

It is important to point out that this can lead to these cultures

being seen as undeveloped and novel by those who

look to preserve their elite position of their own ethnicity and this exacerbates tensions that exist among Coysan populations
