Derek, let's start with the state of the war in Iran.

0:50.7

I guess the best place to start with this would be the Israeli attack over the weekend on the fuel depots outside of Tehran, which were devastating to the city.

1:02.5

They sent toxic black sludge into the air, set the oil depots on fire spewing thick smoke that hung over the city for over a day.

1:14.0

I don't know the extent to which it's cleared up by now,

1:17.1

but then a lot of the toxins that were released into the air proceeded to rain down in an acidic rain, if you will,

1:55.9

So that's where we seem to be at this point.

1:59.8

I think what you're seeing, and it's hard to track because news doesn't come out of Iran very easily.

2:08.2

And of course, the Israelis and the U.S. government are spinning things the way that they want to.

2:13.6

But what you're seeing, I think, is an exhaustion of easy military targets and a turn toward more civilian targets as this has gone on.

2:24.3

There was an apartment complex in Tehran that I assume the Israelis, I think the Israelis have been more active around Tehran than the U.S. has been hit overnight that killed somewhere

2:36.4

in the neighborhood of 40 people. The death toll, I want to get the most accurate figure here,

2:46.1

but the death toll was approaching 1,500 in Iran, and that's just what has been able to be counted so far.

2:54.6

I'm going to look at Al Jazeera here.
