You've probably already heard Vladimir Putin and the Russian army have invaded Ukraine.

This is the largest war in Europe since 1945.

There is a lot happening right now.

So today, we're going to break things down for you as best we can.

It's Wednesday, March 2nd, and this is a 10 new special report.

The United States and many other countries have come together to support Ukraine and are using

various methods to punish Russia and convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop his invasion

of Ukraine.

It's a tough situation with the other countries trying to help Ukraine without causing

the situation to escalate further.

Lots of different terms are being used and in today's definition breakdown, we'll get up to

speed on what everything means.

First up is NATO, which is a key term that's at the center of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It's N-A-T-O, and it stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

It's a political and military alliance of 30 mostly European nations, but also includes the

United States and Canada. Ukraine and Russia are not part of NATO.

The NATO alliance has an agreement that if one country is attacked, it's considered an attack

on all of the countries and that they'll defend one another.

Ukraine wants to join NATO.

Putin certainly doesn't want them to join NATO, and has demanded that
