I think Kuligula was one of the most seminal moments in the history of Penthouse.

It's been almost 10 years since I first became interested in Tintobras' original intentions for Calicula.

So Tintobras shot the film the way he wanted it, but while he was in the midst of editing, he was suddenly dismissed,

and the producer had the film edited again from scratch.

I know that at least 50% of the creative process sits in that space after everything is filmed.

And it was Alex's contention and of course Tinto's belief that the film never came to its full actualization.

He just in passing happened to say, well, you know that film warehouse where all the other reels are stored, I said, what film warehouse?

We called the warehouse and said, hi, my name's Kelly Holland. I said, what film warehouse? We called the warehouse and said,

And they said, yes, and we're just about to shred 400 boxes of film reels.

We are closer than ever during the past 40 years to actually release a version of the film edited in accordance with Tinto Brass plans from the 1970s.
