On this episode, I am talking with author Ian Nathan about his latest book, The Copulas, A Movie Dynasty. It is out now

Had a fantastic time talking with Mr. Nathan, and I hope you enjoy it. Obviously, I want to speak to you

about your book, The Copulas, but I want to know more about you. Can you tell me how you got into writing about films?

Like many people, I grew up loving film.

My parents split when I was very young.

And when I saw my father, he used to take me to films.

It was kind of the thing we did together.

And I think there was a kind of connection made somewhere in there. Some Freudian thing went on,

in which I sort of aligned films with a great pleasure. I grew up in a time when there was no

VCRs and obviously no streaming or anything like that. So you watched what was on television.

And my parents were always very good at sort of building up films that were going to

come on TV. And I have such a memory of them talking about like, Doctor No, we'll be playing

Sunday afternoon. So the family have to sit down and watch Doctor No. It was such a big deal to me.
