with Mr. Wilson, and I said, well, duh, yeah, I'd love to talk to this guy.

How did you get involved in the world of kickboxing?

And what was that world like when you first entered into it?

Kickboxing's around a long time, possiblyibly longer than boxing, it's just America.

It didn't hit here as a full-blown sport into 1974. And since I started martial arts in 72,

I was kind of a beginner. I believe my first fight I was actually a brown belt and I had what they called in those days full contact karate because I was kind of a beginner. I believe my first fight I was actually a brown belt, and I had what they called in those days, full contact karate.

Because we didn't call ourselves kickboxers because we were not in a boxing ring.

We did not wear boxing gloves.

It was slightly different than what it evolved to.

It's like the UFC started off as an eight-man tournament.

Anything goes, no weight divisions, no gloves at all, no protective equipment.

And then the UFC has become a regular M&A sport with time limits and weight limits and, you know, all the regulations that boxing has.

They now have in M.A.

Well, that's the way kickboxing went. It started off. My first

fight was in 74. It was right after they had the first fights in California, and my brother was a

promoter, and I got involved in it because he wanted to promote the first fight in the state of
