proportions. It is the worst earthquake to hit that country in over a century, striking

close to the economic and tourist hub of Marikesh, but the epicenter and the worst

destruction is in the surrounding Atlas Mountains, isolated areas which are difficult to access. Thousands are dead and thousands more injured
