This is your host, Mike White, and I am speaking today to Brian Hunter

of the Michigan Theater and Cinnatopia Film Festival. If you are in or around the Metro

Detroit or Ann Arbor area, I highly recommend that you check out the Cinnatopia Film Festival.

It is one of Michigan's premier festivals. There are only a few, and this is one of them, so check it

out. Enjoy the interview, and be sure to attend the festival. Brian, this is Cynetopia 2017. How many

years has the festival been going on now? This will be our sixth year. Six years, it's our third

year in Detroit and Arbor, but our sixth year,

nonetheless. Is there a focus to this year's festival? Because I know it's always like the best of the

fest. Is there any particular themes that you're exploring this year? It's a programming team. And

it should be the first to say the programming team has grown every year, which is good because

you get a lot of, you know, you get a lot of sounding boards, you get a lot of different eyes and lots of different

things. I'm lucky to work with a lot of funny and smart and really amazing people who really like

movies and really have good taste in movies. So that's always a benefit as well. In previous years,

I would have said that we go into a festival and we sort of let the

theme find us.

We sort of see, you know, as we're going through these films from cons and Berlin and Sundance

and blah, blah, blah, blah, sort of seeing what's going on in the zeitgeist.

What's out there?
