Hey, it's Brandt. I got a chance to sit down with John Foreman, the lead singer of Switchfoot, and they've got a new CD out called Where the Light Shines Through. And we had a really long chat.

So the last podcast was part one, and now this is going to be part two as we continue to talk

about songs from their CD and the themes that they use.

I won't let you go is my favorite on the album so far after hearing it a few times.

Yeah.

What kind of feedback have you gotten from

people listening to this are they also feeling the same thing i am or everybody's got their own

faves or yeah i think it really depends on the the person yeah i suppose it does because i

there's two people in particular that have told me that that's their favorite song on the record

and then a close personal friend that was that that's their favorite song on the record.

And then a close personal friend that was like, that's the only song he didn't connect with on the record.

So, and that's, you know, for me, that's a sign of a great album.

Good.

Because I want different songs to come to the surface.

For me, okay, so I won't let you go. I had been writing a lot of

songs from the place. Usually the only place I know how to write from is my own two eyes

in the ears looking at the world and listening. I was equate songwriting with archaeology.

Every day you pick up your guitar and you just start digging.

And sometimes you dig in the newspaper.

Sometimes you dig in a conversation with your friend in Iraq.
