Let's get that out of the way.

But we were thinking about friendship and stuff.

There's a thing, there's a reason why we struggle with friendship now in our culture.

And I think a big part of it is we just think pleasure in the moment is all it matters. And as long as I'm happy, what's the problem?

If I'm not harming anybody, what's the problem?

I'll get to Simba here in a second.

But imagine, like, if you could just hook yourself up to some machine that just made you happy

and you stayed by yourself the whole time.

Well, is there anything wrong with that?

You're happy.

Not hurting anybody else, right? But what

if Simba, just used an example from a kid's story, like they could hook him up to a machine

and he's just happy? There is no story. It's true. Because it is a, it's not okay to just say,

as long as I'm happy and I'm not bothering anybody. Like, no, you were made for something. So all of that story that unfolds,

all the adventure, all the drama, all the heroism, all the sadness, all the, everything that

happened in that story would not have happened if we just hook you up to a machine. Hey, as long as

he's happy. I can just play video games as long as I'm happy. I can just stay here as long as I'm happy. As long as I can smoke this, I can do that, as long as I'm just having pleasure.
