0:09.5	I am David here all by myself in the studio today, and that's because I am here to talk to you about something really cool that's coming out, and that is my new book.
0:19.1	It's called Learning to Be Loved.
0:21.1	And then the subtitle is The Everyday Believers Guide to a Rich Relationship with God.
0:27.9	It's written by myself and a friend of mine named Mart Green, and we wrote this book together,
0:33.8	and we're going to give you a free sample chapter of the audiobook after I just kind of
0:39.7	set it up for a little bit here. And the audiobook chapter that you're going to hear at the end of
0:43.9	this episode is all about how to learn God's love through Bible reading. And it has a lot of the
0:50.5	story of spoken gospel and why we do what we do in it and a bit of our theology
0:55.6	and philosophy of understanding the Bible in it, as well as some beautiful stories. And I really
1:01.5	can't wait to share that with you. But before we jump into that little free gift from our friends
1:06.3	at Zondervin, I just wanted to share a bit of the story of why this book exists and hopefully what you can
1:13.3	get out of it if you happen to get your hands on it. So this book really came out of a few things.
1:19.2	The first was this huge desire that I felt to move the love of God from my head down to my heart. For so long I have spent, as you guys have
1:32.7	listened on this podcast for so long, if you've been listening for a while, I've spent so long
1:37.4	talking about and thinking about and writing about the love of God as expressed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it's been a great
1:47.2	joy for me to be able to meditate on this love, to talk about it, to express it, to put it
1:53.6	to video, to podcast, to poetry. And it's been a great joy. But I realized that that love hadn't yet made its way fully into my heart.
2:06.4	And it still hasn't.
2:07.6	But I realized that I wanted to go on a journey to ask God to move his love for me deeper and deeper in my heart.
