Since we now know that we are going to get a redacted version of the Mueller report on Thursday,

we wanted to give you a Reader's Guide.

Joe and I are thrilled to be joined today by Matthew Miller.

Matthew has worked at the highest levels of government and politics,

including service at the Department of Justice as the director of the Office of Public Affairs,

leading the department's communications team and serving as Attorney General Eric Holder's spokesman.

Prior to his service, the DOJ, Matthew worked in leadership positions in both the US House and Senate,

as well as the 2004 presidential campaign for then-Senator John Kerry.

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, an MSNBC contributor and has written for

the Washington Post, Time Magazine, Politico, and others.

We'll talk about Barr and the Mueller report and everything related to the Russia investigation

in a minute. But before we dive into that, we want to talk about your time at the Department of Justice.

And you've worked in politics and government throughout your career,

but your tenure at DOJ was not like that of most of the political appointees.

And so tell us about your work there and what that job was.

So I showed up at the Department of Justice.
