Hello and welcome to the Story Grid podcast. This is a show dedicated to helping you become a better writer.

0:07.3

I'm your host Tim Graal and I am a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a story that works.

0:14.1

In this episode, I have both Steve Pressfield and Sean Coyne joining me to talk about resistance and talk about how you can build your

0:23.6

career as a writer. And it's all around Steve's new book. Nobody wants to read your shit.

0:28.7

This is part two. And so if you haven't listened to last week's episodes, you're going to want to

0:33.0

start there because Steve has joined us for two entire episodes. Steve, of course, is a really smart guy.

1:30.8

you yesterday who's a writer. He says he's building a new house and he's going to rip the

1:35.9

internet out of the room that he writes in because he just falls into the Wikipedia holes all

1:41.3

the time. And I'm like, no, I can, when I decide to work, I just work.

1:45.5

But that's been a long process of learning.

1:49.4

And actually, right before we got on the phone, I was talking to a guy named Cal Newport

1:52.9

who wrote the book, Deep Work.

1:55.7

And, you know, what, I feel like there's this resistance that keeps us from working like you talk about.
