| 1:23.9 | a lot of very important significant ure sites but this week begins yeshiva week is a fixture on the calendar today. In Florida, we prepare for yeshiva week, much like people prepare for a hurricane. You go out and you buy supplies early, you fill your cars with gas, you try to, you hunker down, you don't go out, and you let the storm pass. And when it's safe to emerge again, you can emerge again. But you have all the supplies and everything you need in the meantime. Am I exaggerating, Rabbi Brody? Not at all. First of all, it began already. I guess there's different schedules to some, some yeshivas and some schools and some communities have off already last week. I went to meet someone at our bagel store. All of a sudden, I've never seen this before. There is a sign outside the bagel store. Please wait to be seated. Wait to be seated. What do you mean? There's always a seed. I look in. I don't recognize it. It is an amazing phenomenon. In fact, it's such a fixture in institution, such a phenomenon. Wikipedia now has an entry on Yeshiva Week. But the truth is, it's not Yeshiva Week. Like you said, it's Yeshiva Weeks because New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Cleveland, everybody's staggering it now. Instead of coordinating, cooperating, they don't want to overlap with others, whatever they're thinking is. I don't understand the phenomenon fully, but it's now staggered. So we have several weeks. It might be yeshiva month, not yeshiva week. |
| 2:38.6 | But we love it. We love it and we're lucky. And I want to remind our fellow Floridians that we get |
| 2:43.6 | to live in the paradise that others flock to for one week. We get to live there all year round. |
| 2:48.2 | So be patient, be humble, be gracious, be warm, be welcoming, be patient. |
| 2:53.5 | And in fact, several years ago, I wrote an open letter about Yeshiva Week, both to the visitors and to the locals. |
| 2:59.7 | And I received, I think, three or four requests, two restaurant owners. |
| 3:03.7 | And some people asked me to re-release it. |
