First Corinthians chapter 6 is where we're going to camp out together tonight.

I had a significant moment about 11 years ago this week.

Just a few days after my son was born.

And that moment really would change the trajectory of my ministry, how I preached,

what I thought about when it came to moments like this, whether it be moments like this

at the village church back in Dallas or moments like this here with you or moments at passion

or moments wherever I got the opportunity to preach and teach the Word of God. And so my son had just

been born. He'll turn 11 on Friday,

so I was 32, maybe even 31 at the time had been pastoring the village church for about four years.

And the village church at that point was just filled with 20-somethings. We were a massive church

that was extremely broke, all right? Like our offering plates had a lot of change in

them, okay? And good-hearted people tithing, giving unto the Lord a lot of change from the ashtray

of their cars. But the Lord used it and multiplied it. And so I walk in on a Saturday night

service where I was walking. I kind of walk in, I sit like off to the right in the old building. And as I was walking to my seat, this heavy set young man kind of ran up on me, like made security grab the taser, you know, and then grab me and pulled me tight. I'm not a front hugger, man. I don't want to go chest to chest with you, all right? Like I'm gonna put my hand in there if you're a dude because I want that arm. I don't want to go nipple a nipple with you, boss.
