Summary

1:09.7	to have Bob Shrest. Bob was a career Special Forces soldier. You know, we're going to get into his story A to Z.
1:19.7	Just real quick, I'm Jack Murphy, co-host Dave Park. I think everyone knows us. You're probably
1:24.8	tired of hearing from us. But Bob had a really interesting career. He served in Vietnam with Project Sigma. He served in Thailand up on the Laius border with the Thai military.
1:38.0	He went on a secret mission to Libya we're going to be able to talk a little bit about.
1:42.0	But the bulk of what we're going to be able to talk a little bit about. But the bulk of what we're going to be talking about today is Bob's two stints that he did in Special Forces detachment A in Berlin. They were a clandestine special forces unit. Nobody really knew about them, not even in the
1:56.6	special forces community. They were almost completely unknown. And their mission, as Bob will share in detail, were primarily to act as saboteurs in the event that the Soviets ever invaded.
2:11.0	If the Cold War went hot, these guys would go to ground undercover and after the
2:16.1	Soviets pushed over them, they would activate in the enemy's rear areas and just start
2:21.2	wreaking havoc.
2:23.0	And it was nearly a suicide mission.
2:25.0	But that's really just the beginning of what Dead A did.
2:28.0	Later on, they had a counter-terrorism mission.
