Summary

Anxiety and OCD don’t live in a bubble. Often kids with anxiety and OCD have sensory processing issues as well. It can help to understand what is sensory, what is anxiety, what is OCD and what is a little bit of all three!

I always like to bring in experts to educate us about things that are out of my wheelhouse. That is why I have partnered with my friend and colleague, Alisha Grogan, from Your Kids Table. Alisha is an OT and an expert in all things sensory!

In my latest episode of the AT Parenting Survival Podcast I sit down with Alisha to discuss how sensory issues can show up in our kids and what we as parents can do to help them.

Alisha has graciously gifted my audience $50 off her program Rise with Sensory. This is an on-demand video course that will give you all the skills you need to help your child with sensory issues directly.

🌸 To get Rise with Sensory for $50 off click here to go to our special discounted page! This discount ends September 13, 2023.

This isn't the usual day.

0:11.2

Actually, this is a bonus podcast.

0:14.2

Notice it doesn't have a number on it, because I was talking to my friend and colleague,

0:19.7

Alicia Grogan, and we were partnering where I was going to be doing a week of awareness

0:25.9

for anxiety OCD and its relationship with sensory processing.

0:32.0

And I interviewed her, and I realized this would be great for the podcast.

0:37.2

I was going to use it on social media, and I was actually going to put it on YouTube.

0:42.9

But I really feel like some of you are not in those other areas, and so I wanted to create

0:49.4

a podcast around this interview so that you could benefit as well, because I'm partnering

0:55.1

with her, because she is my go-to expert on all things sensory and picky eating.

1:02.1

She's an occupational therapist, for those of you that don't know her.

1:05.6

She has a platform and a website called Your Kids Table.

1:09.7

She's very similar to me.

1:10.9

She's kind of like the OT version of me.

1:14.0

So the sensory picky eating version of Natasha Anxiety and OCD version, right?

1:19.5

Does that make any sense?

1:20.7

Both therapists, we have our specialties.

1:23.6

Our style is very similar to mine, and so I go to her for things that are out of my

1:29.6

wheelhouse, which includes sensory processing issues, and she's a great picky eating specialist

1:37.1

as well.
