Hi y'all, this is Rhett Miller. Welcome to Wheels Off. I hope you enjoy this encore presentation

of my conversation with the great Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Golden Smog and the Mermaid Avenue albums.

And way back in the olden days, Uncle Tupelo. He is an artist I

greatly admire and a person I really like. He's genuine and funny and talented and deep. And all

of that comes through in the interview. In fact, I might say all this stuff again in the proper introduction

that you're about to hear, but I just wanted you to know that there's a reason we're rerunning

a handful of these interviews at the beginning of the year, and it's not just to give me a break

from scheduling and conducting interviews. It's because these really resonated with folks. And this one

more so, maybe than any other that happened last year, Jeff is just such an interesting,

funny dude. And his generosity when it comes to thinking and talking about creativity comes

through unlike anybody I've ever really known.
