today is Thursday, May 25th, 2017.

I'm Scott Bland, your host, and you are listening to Politico's Nurdcast. We're going to start off today with the big politics news of this week. The Montana Special

House election that we were talking about last week came to a stunning

conclusion on Thursday.

We stayed up all night watching the results and have a lot to say about that.

And also about the fact that the Republican candidate Greg Janforte was charged with assault

for attacking a reporter less than 24 hours before election day. We've also

been watching President Donald Trump's first foreign trip very closely and

we'll talk a bit about what he's accomplished and

what that all means and also while Trump was out of the country his

administration released a budget that even Republicans on Capitol Hill

are either condemning or ignoring.

That's in addition to the long-awaited Congressional Budget Office report on the

GOP health care plan.

So we will talk all about what's in that fiscal blueprint,

some other budget news this week's
