Coronial Inquiry.

Hi, I'm your host Cambo, grab a beer and pull up a deck chair. Laine Truscott at the state coroner's

court of New South Wales on the 5th of December 2017. If you're a new listener, I recommend you go back and have a listen to episode 4, where

are told of the case of the then missing Matthew Leveson. I then did a case update on a special edition. In fact it was my

first special edition on the 1st of June 2017 where Matthew's remains had been found. I've been updating the case since and tonight

I will go over the coroner's report for you. Now I'll be taking almost all of this word for word from the

coroner's report so here we go. Matthew was born on the 12th of December 1986 and he died on the 23rd of September 2007.

Matthew was 20 years old.

Over the previous 12 months, he'd been living in a de facto relationship with Michael Atkins,

who leased a unit at Cranulla in Sydney. Matthew is the second son of Mark and Faye Levison.

He is the younger brother of Peter, an older brother of Jason. Matthew had been looking forward to his 21st

birthday party and Jason was about to turn 18. Matthew was a well-light,

attractive and fun-loving openly gay man.

His family gave him unconditional love and support.

At the time of his death, Matthew had been working at a call center from Tuesday to Saturday.

Mr Atkins, 25 years Matt Sr. had been out as a gay man for about four to five years prior to meeting Matt in about early 2006. Matt and Atkins lifestyle included going to work,

the gym and partying at the ARQ Night Club in Flinders Street, Darlinghurst on a Saturday night

until about five or six o'clock in the morning. On Saturday the 22nd of September

2007 Matt and Atkins arrived at ARQ Night Club with Jack Smith at around midnight.

They left the club on Sunday, the 23rd of September 2007,

between 2.15 AM.m. and 2.30 a.m. which was unusually early. The last
