no giggling. I'll have to see if I can get my special guest to giggle as much as Ray normally does.

B, we're not talking about ancient history or Cesar's or Augustus or any of that stuff today.

It's a little bit different.

So feel free to turn off if you don't want to listen to it.

But as many of you know, a few years ago, I wrote a book about free will, amongst other things.

One of my great passions in life for the last 30 years has been the question of whether or not we have free will.

And my guest today is somewhat of an expert on the subject.

And I'm very excited to be able to have the opportunity to have a chat with someone who knows way more than I do about subject and he can correct all of the mistakes I've been making for the last 30 years.

My guest today, see, there you go, he's giggling already, I'm off to a good start.

My guest today, Dr Richard Carrier, probably best known, I think,

for getting his Judy Gunner's mate certificate from the United

States Coast Card in 1992.

But then it's all gone downhill from there, I think.

He does have a Masters of Philosophy and a doctorate in ancient history from Columbia University.

So if we wanted to talk about the Caesars, I'm sure he'd be more than capable, but, and who

knows, maybe we'll get there at some point.

But in all seriousness, Richard is, I think, best known for his work on the historicity of Jesus

and his position that one of the ways to

approach ancient history is to use Bayes theorem. He's written books on that. He's written

lots of books. He's got a huge following around the world. And I was fortunate enough to
