Summary
The Opportunity to Make a Difference!
The Adventure Sports Podcast is raising at least $20,000 for We See Hope, an organization that helps homeless children in Africa. But why stop at $20k? Let's go big. How about $60,000 or more? Visit the We See Hope website to see what all they are doing. It is amazing! https://www.weseehopeusa.org/. They have already helped more than 800,000 folks in Africa, making it possible for them to have a chance at better lives.
Curt is always talking about adventures that make a difference, and this is an opportunity for the Adventure Sports Podcast family to make a real and positive impact. Curt is climbing Kilimanjaro with the Climbing for Change team in January to help inform as many people as possible about We See Hope and to see how many more children we can rescue from the streets in Africa.
All climbers are paying their own way. Donations go to We See Hope!
Kilimanjaro is nearly 20,000 feet high and is the highest point on the continent of Africa. Much of the work of We See Hope occurs within a few hundred miles of Kili. As a climber, Curt's committed to raising at least $1 per foot of the climb.
Thanks in advance for the impact you are making by being a part of this effort. Every dollar counts - let's do this!

| 0:23.3 | in the world. Let me explain a little bit. Back in 1993, yeah, I know, many of you weren't born |
| 0:30.4 | yet, back in 1993, I went to Africa. A buddy and I took on second jobs. We saved our pennies. We bought airplane tickets, |
| 0:40.4 | and we went to Kenya. And while we were there, we built a school. And we met the most amazing people |
| 0:47.4 | and saw the most amazing landscapes. I fell in love with the land, the people, and even the wildlife. |
| 0:54.6 | Africa is a magical, wonderful place. |
| 0:57.8 | And if you ever get the opportunity, or make the opportunity, no matter how hard it is, |
| 1:03.6 | to get there, get off the beaten path and see what the real Africa is about, man, I highly, |
| 1:10.6 | highly recommend it. One way that we get off the |
| 1:13.8 | beaten path is we found a man who had him a tautu, which was essentially a van that he could use as a |
| 1:19.3 | taxi cab, and he agreed to drive us around for five weeks while we were there. His name was |
| 1:25.9 | Joseph Kamani. Ended up being a dear friend. What was wonderful |
| 1:30.1 | about it is that his English was very good. Of course, he also spoke Kakuyu, and he spoke Swahili. |
| 1:36.9 | So not only did he drive us around in his van, but he interpreted for us. We were working on |
| 1:42.6 | building a school, but in addition to that, we toured all over Kenya. |
| 1:46.6 | We went as far northwest as Homa Bay on Lake Victoria. |
| 1:51.6 | We went as far southeast as Mombasa and Dianne Beach, where we got to see the Indin Ocean. |
| 1:59.5 | And we went as far south as Masaymara and got to see |
| 2:04.1 | some of the wildlife there but while we were there on the southern border of Kenya I got to see |
