BBC Radio Merseys. Now we've been talking about alternative medicines this morning as the number of referrals to

Liverpool's homey apopathy service continues to fall.

It means the service in Old Swan may be facing a very tough future.

So what do you think of homeyopathy?

Is it a vital form of medicine?

Or mumbo jumbo, as one or two of you have been saying today.

I'm joined by John Cook who's the chairman of Northwest Friends of Homeopathy and Michael

Marshall from the Merseys Skeptics organization. Let's start with John Cook.

Are you genuinely worried for the future of the Central and Oldswood?

It's been there a while, isn't it?

Yeah, can I just try and put this thing into context? There's three things I'd like to say about the

current situation, if I may.

Okay.

Firstly, NHS homeopathy is very much a front-line service. It always has been since the

national health started and in Liverpool there is a centre in old swan and they do have an

outreach clinic in St. Cath's in Birkenhead as well.

Yeah, but referrals are down though, aren't they?
