Apparently, his lease was up. Sixty-three-year-old Philip Estevez blasted 51-year-old Luis Martinez

rented a room in the basement, shooting him twice in the head, once in the chest. Sometimes a simple eviction notice just doesn't do the trick.

Chances are Martinez will not be getting his deposit back.

Not after leaving the place in this condition, he left possessions behind.

over the place. Estevez was convicted of second-degree murder following a jury trial before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Albert Tomey.

A Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson said, the landlord's life will be ruined now. He'll likely spend the rest of his days behind bars. He also said, this defendant was out of control. He shot to death his tenants over unpaid rent. Poor Martinez, it's like he brought a knife to a gun rent arbitration.
