And now, Skylab, launch of Skylab 2.

Before we proceed to the launch, I want to give a quick comparison of the launch vehicles.

The Skylab cruise flew to orbit on Saturn 1Bs.

The last Saturn 1B that the United States launched before Skylab 2 was for Apollo 7, the first successful crewed mission for the Apollo program.

Apollo 7 was confined to Earth orbit.

All of the Apollo Moon missions and Apollo 9 were flown with the much larger Saturn 5. How much larger was it?

Saturn 5s that went to the moon were 363 feet tall, while the Saturn 1B was only 139 feet tall.
