This is Michael Anas and you're listening to episode 306 of the Space Rocket History podcast. And now, Apollo 14, the launch. The timing of an Apollo launch to the moon falls within certain windows or periods of time which are influenced by daily and monthly factors.

The daily restriction to the window is due to the rotation of the Earth, bringing the launch site to the correct relationship with the moon's position in its orbit. The timing of this window

allows enough of a parking orbit around Earth
