What's going on golf addicts DB here and I'm going to give you everything you need to know nothing you don't about Southern Hills the host

course in Tulsa Oklahoma for the PGA championship coming up. I'm excited about it. If you're betting or playing VFS or doing any kind of

pool, this will help you get off to a good start in terms of what to know about this golf course and what type of player it's going to fit.

Let's get into it. Alright Southern Hills was a Perry Maxwell design in 1936. He also designed Colonial among another course. We see regularly on the PGA tour. It's hosted 16 majors and I believe this is the fifth time it's hosted the PGA championship. But I don't think it's worth going back at all and looking at past performances past, you know, figuring out how it played in the past. There was a major renovation in 2018, 2019 completed and led

by Gil Hans and everything that you read about it, everything, you know, quoted from players like Tiger who just was spotted out their plan says that this thing is not playing anything like what it used to Southern Hills had evolved over time and it kind of went away from the Perry Maxwell original design and Gil Hans came back and really made it a lot more like what Perry Maxwell envisioned and therefore changed a lot about the golf course. But I'm really excited to tell you about it. So just some basics. This is in Tulsa.

Oklahoma, I think one of the most important things to keep in mind is wind wind and weather and rain and all that kind of stuff. Right. So I don't think we can get too committed to a player pool early or guys that we really like early. There's a few that are going to be good either way. Obviously some of the top players in the world.

But this is going to be weather dependent on what everyone at Southern Hills would love what Gil Hans would love is to see this place play firm, fast, you know, dry conditions have some teeth in these fairways have some teeth around these greens. There's a lot of short grass here and that's what that's what everybody's going to want to see.

I think that would be the most challenging way that it could play for sure. It's going to play more difficult. It's going to favor your grinders. It's going to favor more precision off the tee and into these greens. It's going to favor more patient players. You're going to get bad breaks. You're going to get roll outs into preets or whatever it may be if it's firm and fast.

If we get rain and the course softens. It's going to favor the longer hitters even more right long hitters always have an advantage.

But it's not it's going to separate the field a little bit. And I think really open it up to just the longer the longer hitters is going to take a lot of bite out of the rolling.

You know, the rolling hills here at Southern Hills, the green complex and runoff is going to take a lot of bite out of those as well. They're going to play it as a par 70.

It's going to play anywhere between 7,500 and 7,600 yards, which is really, it sounds really long and it is.

A lot of that is wrapped up into two par 5s that are 620 over 620 630 yards each. If they want to tip them out, those are obviously going to be pretty much three shot holes for everyone. I can't imagine any player getting home in two unless they really move the tee's up or there's a substantial wind helping.

But that would be really hard that those are going to be three shot par 5s from what I can tell right now and I'm recording this the week of Lord what tournament what tournament is this.

I'm recording this as of the Wells Fargo championship and officially the scorecards not been released, but it looks like there's only going to be about four par 4s between that 450 and 500 yard range.

So, you know, a lot of the distance eaten up in the par 5s that are going to be three shot holes, not that there's not other, you know, tough par 4s. There's going to be one at 500 yards or a little over 500 yards for sure, but a lot of that distance is wrapped up in those par 5.
