Good evening from Washington.

We begin with breaking news and it has all the signs of being something big.

CNN has learned that the State Department's Inspector General has sent what sources

describe as an urgent email requesting a bipartisan congressional staff briefing tomorrow

related to documents on Ukraine.

One congressional aide called the email, quote, highly unusual and cryptically worded, this

comes at the end of a day that's all the State Department and three House committees

battling over deposition from some of the key players in the Ukraine story with allegations

of administration stonewalling and signs laid today that at least some parts of that

stone wall appear to be crumbling.

Also tonight, a remarkable new look inside President Trump's vision for the U.S. Mexico

border.

The story in the New York Times citing multiple White House and administration official officials

says the president often talked about a border trench filled with snakes or alligators

and spoke of shooting migrants in the legs.
