My fascination with Moscow goes right back to my days playing with shortwave radio and an echoy voice with a few whistles and crackles saying this is Radio Moscow.

They all sounded a little bit sinister and they told me all about five-year farming plans and a man called Mr.

Christoph and a football team called Moscow Dynamo at the time they were one of the

best teams around. Well a lot's changed, Mr.

Christoph has gone, many leaders have gone,

communism has gone. But Moscow's still here and so is football.

And of course the World Cup is about to take place.

It seemed a great time for me as a blind man to get my sound picture of Moscow.
