We have a little bit of news to report before we get into our first story for the month.

The Wisdom out to Thry it. This is the first time a Clark's World story has won the

Dipmar. You can find that particular story in the December 2012 issue. In other

And Clark's World Number 68 is a 2013 Aurora

Ward nominee for Best Short Fiction.

Congratulations to you, Suzanne. And Neil would like me to mention that we're about 20% of the way to our goal of 500 new subscribers.

When we get there, we'll add a fourth original short story to each issue. And that means another podcast, so if you

could spread the word, it'd be greatly appreciated. Now, on to our first story. I am so excited about this one.

For those of you who have known Jim Kelly,

he's written novels, short stories, essays, reviews, poetry, plays, and planetarium shows.

He has won the Nebula and Hugo Awards and his fiction has been translated into 21 languages.

With John Castle, he is co-editor of 7-2. translated into 21 languages.

With John Kessel, he is co-editor of seven anthologies, most recently Digital Rapture,

The Singularity Anthology, and Sifwa's Nebula Award Showcase both published in 2012.

He writes a column on the internet for Asimov Science Fiction magazine

and is on the faculty of the Stone Coast Creative Writing MFA program at the University of Southern Maine.

He was an early and eager adopter of podcasting.
