What's up and welcome to Ask for the Josh the Pockets, why get to listen to your questions, pray with them and hopefully respond in such a way that it's helpful for you and your walk tour becoming the particular saint.

God wants for you and me and for all of us to become here's how the show goes. You hit me up with three to five questions per episode dealing with anything and everything from morality, the spirituality, theology, philosophy, relationship, advice, evangelization, discipleship, catechesis and the list will go on.

I wouldn't spend time with your question, take it to prayer and study and hopefully respond in such a way that it's helpful for you to grow and virtue, to grow and hold in this.

But my disclaimer is this, I am not perfect. I'm a broken priest and so every now and then the advice that I share with you might not actually be good for you.

If that's the case, then I want to give you the freedom to reject whatever it is that I say that does not help you to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

However, if my advice is helpful, though difficult, then I want to encourage you to lean into Christ in prayer so that God can give you the graces you may need to fulfill the demands of discipleship.

Today's show, our topic is going to be pretty cool. We're going to talk about when do we receive a soul?

At what point in our life do we get a soul? This question often times will come up especially in political debates about abortion.

We're also going to talk about soul ties. That has become a very popular term in a lot of Catholic and evangelical and charismatic circles.

I guess over the past couple of decades and so we're going to talk about whether or not that's a real thing or is that something that some people just made up like a new HE thing or whatever.

And finally we're going to talk about suffering and how do we practically offer it up whenever we're experiencing pain and suffering.

But before we get into those awesome topics, I want to share with you a glory story.

I just stepped on some coffee because of the quarantine right now. I ran out of my cream that I always talk about on the show.

I'm using some of that regular, smeggled cream. It's just okay. It's not as good.

I'm grateful for the gift of coffee. This is first world problems. It's all a gift. I deserve hell.

That's what Saint Francis says. Never complain because we deserve hell. In the fact that God offers us salvation, anything else is a gift.

Because I deserve hell, but I'm getting saved, I'm getting Christ for all eternity. I could suffer with coffee. It's just okay.

But yeah, my glory story is this. My God is so good. I admit to you, I'm human. I still struggle sometimes with the Lord.
