Hey everybody at all of our life churches and network churches and our church online

family today. We are starting a brand new series called Soul Detox. This is

actually based on my newest book Soul Detox that I'm very excited about. You may

say what in the world is a soul detox? Well let's kind of build a foundational

understanding today for what we'll study in the next four weeks. What we are

studying on the weekend is different than what's in the book. This is all new

content that I prepared for us. So if you read the book this will be different

but let's build a foundation today as we talk about soul detox. If you're taking

notes write this down. We need to understand and this is really important in

how we do life that we are not a body with a soul but instead we are a soul with

a body. Let's play that back and let that sink in. So many of us we think we

are our bodies but we're not. We are not a body with a soul. Whenever you die

your body dies but your soul lives somewhere forever. We are not a body with a

soul but we are a soul with a body. In fact whenever God created Adam this is

how it was described in Genesis 2, 7. Scripture says, and the Lord God formed man

out of the dust of the ground. He took the dust and the clay and made that into

his body. That was the outer covering for our soul. And God breathed into his

nostrils the breath of life and what did man become? All of our churches say

it aloud and man became a living soul. We are not a body with a soul. We are a

soul with a body. Why does that matter? Let me kind of explain it. When I
