This is often referred to as the sermon on the mount and we are in the beginning part

of that sermon, which is referred to as the Beatitude, the Blessed R statements.

All right, today we're looking at Matthew 5, verse number 4, and again, Jesus is teaching

His disciples, and possibly this massive crowd that's joined around him.

And he's saying to them, what life is like in the kingdom of heaven?

Now, this idea, this concept of the kingdom of heaven is something they've got.

They were somewhat familiar with in his day because prophets had talked about God's coming

kingdom, but Jesus is informing them that with his arrival, the kingdom has come.

He is implementing and instituting the principles of the kingdom for those who will follow him,

and this sermon lays them out, gives us the standards of the kingdom, what it looks like,
