Hello, my name is James Acaster, and in 2017, I had a breakdown, and I coached with that breakdown by downloaded as much music as possible as I could

from the year 2016. I now, as a result, own over 600 albums that came out in 2016 and I now

think it's the greatest year for music of all time. But it's not enough me being convinced.

I also want to convince every single one of you and every week. I'm going to have a different

guests on the podcast, play them an album they've never heard before, and see if they will agree

that 2016 is the greatest year for music of all time.

This week, my guest is Sophie Duka, and the album is MM3 by Meta Meta-Meta are a Brazilian band who fuse samber music with punk music. It's very exciting to be talking about this album.

I think it's a highly energetic, frenetic album. Something's going on all the time. It's pretty

relentless.

We'll see if Sophie likes it, I have no idea what Sophie's taste in music is.

I mean, Sophie know each other from stand-up comedy.

Sophie's an amazing comedian.

She got nominated at the Edinburgh Fringe last year for her debut show, Venus.

If you haven't seen Sophie's work, you should definitely go out of your way to see or do comedy.

It's fantastic.

But in the meantime, let's see if me and Sophie can agree that 2016 is the greatest year for music of all time.

And first of all, we have to agree that this album is absolutely excellent, which I know I think it is.

So really, Sophie's the only one holding this up.
