Hey, uh, that amount of time in episodes ago, Yondriatrock presented the first installment of what I intended to be,

a two-part extravaganza of quintessentially British pop.

The kind of stuff people sometimes refer to across the board as Britpop.

Logically enough. But the term Britpop refers to a specific musical movement from a specific time period that being the

mid to late 90s we clearly needed a catch-all term that encompassed music like that

but not restricted to, you know, not restricted in its historical

specificity. And so, having watched massive quantities of the Great British Bakeoff, I ultimately decided to call them

song putings because what could be a more quintessentially British catch-all term than

pudding?

I ask you.

It catches all. It catches all. You can have anything in British pudding can mean anything.

Soft bread, a wet liquid. Jello full of raisins, anything. A pastry with nothing in it. Yeah.
