But in the meantime, we are going back through the archives looking at our most downloaded

songs in Song of the Day history.

So in the last 10 years, we pulled the data and saw which songs of each year

got the most love and downloads.

And we are featuring those for these 10 days leading up to the new

series. Today we're just going back one year to the year 2023 where our most

downloaded song was no surprise actually. It came from the artist Odessa, the beloved

Bellingham duo and K-E-X-P favorite. And in this track, they teamed up with the Cape Town-based artist Yellow House, who they actually

discovered on SoundCloud.

They mentioned in a press release that after working with Yellow House for a few demos remotely from South Africa, they flew him

out to their Seattle studio and from the jump the music had this unmistakable energy of having discovered something special.

They said, quote, we found ourselves drawn to a unique blend of electronic production and Emile's

incredible ability to create nostalgic melodies and

storytelling lyrics. From there we went about creating a number of tracks in

exploring various different combinations of the two worlds." End quote." So let's take a listen and enjoy
