You're listening to Song of the Day from listener-powered K-E-X-P. I'm Isabel Keali and for the past week or so we've been spotlighting some of the most downloaded songs in Song of the Day history, which spans nearly 20 years now.

We're doing this to celebrate the series as it comes to an end

and also to get you excited about the launch of our new series coming to this feed on April 15th.

So every day leading up to then will feature the most downloaded song of the day from one of the

last 10 years. Today we're going back to 2021 with the track Yame Fue from Bizarap,

Dukee and Nicky, Nicole. This track was chosen by K-E-X-P-DJ's Elbina Cabrera and DJ Chile, hosts of El Sonito.

And this track has an interesting story to it.

It all started with a promise made by the Argentinian DJ producer Bizerap

whose music has reached millions through his Bizerap music sessions on YouTube but

he made a promise before the 2021 Copa America that if his country, Argentina, beat

Brazil in the finals, he would record a song with rappers Nicky, Nicole, and duke. Apparently this is something fans wanted and he promised he would do it if they won and they did end up beating Brazil and taking home their first win in 28 years in Copa America and

true to his word Bizarap got together with Nickinacole and Duke and release the track Yame Fue.
