I started my career in broadcasting 30 years ago, which is crazy to me.

And I've talked about it a lot on the podcast that when my time at MTV was up in 1997, I started in September of 1992.

I started 30 years ago at MTV when that was really the only game in town pop culturally,

you know, there really weren't a lot of other networks. There was no such thing as the

internet as we know it. There was certainly no social media. So if you wanted to see what was

happening in music and culture, you went to MTV. It was impossible to know back then

how concentrated that was compared to how diffuse culture is now. But when I left MTV in 1997,

I assumed that my life as a broadcaster was done. So now, 30 years later, I guess I am as surprised

as anyone that I'm still here. I've been at Fox for 10 years. I started in August of 2012.

And I started out as John Stossel's special correspondent, and that turned into a show called

The Independence. And then in 2015, turned into a show called The Independence.
