Summary

Live and under-caffeinated from a mysterious compound buried deep in the Adirondacks, Jonah focuses today’s Ruminant on nationalism, liberalism, and the American tradition. After providing an update on the state of The Dispatch and a few thoughts on integrity in politics, he launches into an epic rant on the recent National Conservatism Conference in Miami and the movement behind it. Throughout, he’s keen to stress a particular point: Our constitutional order still works.

Greetings, dear listeners. This is Jonah Goldberg host of the Remnant Podcast brought to you

0:31.4

about a dispatch and dispatch media. So I am talking to you from a fairly undisclosed

0:39.0

location in the Adirondacks where it's the last day of our dispatch retreat. It's been

for anybody who knows anything about Lake Placid out there. Lake Placid is kind of, it's

1:32.9

cute. I like it. I've driven through it a few times because of the place where we're

1:37.1

having to retreat is a place I've been to before. It's actually where at AI we've been

1:45.1

hunting interns for sport for years and so I have some experience up here. So I looked

1:54.0

it up and the population of Lake Placid is only like the village of Lake Placid, like

1:59.7

3,000 people. I was like, okay, well, it's kind of like a tourist town, ski town kind

2:06.1

of thing, summer population, winter population changes, all that. But then I looked at the

2:10.3

surrounding county, which I think is Essex County and it's only like 30,000 people and

2:16.6

that's all fine and I sure no one thinks any of this is particularly strange except for
