0:26.0	Okay, I'd like to start off by welcoming everyone and thank you for coming this morning.
0:31.7	Yesterday we experienced a tragic event that we honestly thought we'd never see in our county.
0:40.6	At 6.51 p.m. on June 2nd, the 911 Center in Story County, Iowa began receiving calls from
0:47.7	individuals at a church in the city of Ames. The callers reported that someone had been in the
0:53.2	parking lot with a gun and that two individuals had been shot.
0:58.0	22-year-old Edid Montang and 21-year-old Vivian Flores would not survive.
1:03.5	Unfortunately, this tragic event took the lives of two young females.
1:08.4	The shooter was also pronounced dead at the scene.
1:11.6	The shooter would eventually be identified by investigators as an ex-boyfriend of one of the victims.
1:16.6	This shooting is a result of a domestic situation between the shooter and Eden Montag.
1:23.6	The shooting is classified as a targeted act of violence.
1:28.3	Whitlatch approached Eden in the parking lot armed with a 9mm pistol.
1:32.3	Well, we all know this is a very tragic event for our community,
1:36.3	but I think also nationwide as we experience violent incidents nationwide, and it only seems to increase.
