First up on the list of things that won't work to turn back the tide of fascism.

We go to the article from current affairs, don't expect art to save us. And the

article starts with a list of sort of asinine sounding statements about how art will save us or can

save us in a variety of ways, but more specifically, like urging people to consume art and literature

as a form of resistance in

and of itself. And the point is that out of context of doing real political work, consumption

of art turns out to be fairly impotent. My favorite quote from the article is quoting

Kurt Vonnegut, so that's a good start.

So Kurt Vonnegut said of the 60s, quote, every respectable artist in the country was against the Vietnam War.

It was like a laser beam.
