Retired NASA astronaut Scott Kelly made history in 2016 when he returned home

from a year-long mission in space. He spent 340 consecutive days away from family, friends,

and loved ones, 340 days without gravity, and also without hugs and without a home-cooked meal.

In many ways, that prefigured the kind of social isolation that so many of us have been
