We're joined again by Paul.

He is the owner of Aliki Gardens, which is a local San Diego Soil Company.

They have a focus on creating really high quality soils that support a no-till style approach to

gardening, which you guys who listen to the podcast for a while,

know I'm becoming more and more of a fan of.

And so he's been involved with a lot of different things

in the soil world, as you can tell by this last week of podcast episodes.

So today what we're talking about is soil biology,

what's going on in the soil,

and how does that connect and why is that so important

for the regenerative agriculture style of producing food.

So Paul, thanks for coming back on and I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks for having me.

I just wanted to take a minute to sort of put my spin on how soil biology plays a role in the regenerative agriculture.

With regenerative agriculture, we rely on biological systems to make the the mineral elements

plant available. The only way to do that is to have a good foundation of

bacteria and fungi that secrete organic acids and solubize these mineral elements and turn them into an ionic form.
