Now, the last time we all spoke, it was June, it was the end of the term,

and everything had gone completely crazy, and we all had a lot of feelings, and we talked a lot,

And as we recover from all this action, and I should tell you, I'm still a way on vacation,

high court this week with a show all about recent developments relating to the Voting Rights Act.

Now, you've probably heard, unless you too are in an undisclosed location, that this month marked

the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The bill was signed into law by Lyndon B. Johnson

on August 6, 1965, in the wake of several attempts to remedy a long, long history, particularly in the

south of full text, literacy tests, and other attempts to disenfranchise Black voters.
