Summary
In this new series, co-host Haley Stewart and I deep-dive about self-care—but not just self-care. We're talking self-care for the greater good; the simple-but-profound idea that when we take care of ourselves, we're better members of society. We're better neighbors, friends, parents, spouses... we're just better people for the world around us. It's more than just monthly manicures: it's about being the healthiest version of ourselves.
Here in Part 1, we're unpacking friendships, and what it means to take care of ourselves in order to be a good friend. I loved this chat.

| 0:36.1 | really excited about this. So far, we have gotten a whole |

| 1:02.4 | consider it for publication. Okay, Haley, we are starting a new series. I'm so, so excited about |
| 1:09.6 | this topic, social self-care. Okay, before we |
| 1:13.9 | get into the nitty gritties of this episode's topic, let's talk about this broad idea. Social self-care. |
| 1:19.4 | What do we mean when we say that? Yeah. Well, I think that often when we talk about self-care, |
| 1:24.6 | we get stuck on, okay, my self-care is going to get a manicure every month, or it's reading in the bathtub, or something that's just a private thing that I do for myself. |
| 1:38.3 | But we're kind of expanding on that in this series and talking about self-care regarding our relationships, |
| 1:45.8 | regarding our broader communities, and how that kind of all fits into the big idea of |
| 1:51.1 | self-care. So we're kind of going beyond manicures, I think would be a good subtitle for our deep |
| 1:58.4 | dive. I like that. You know, one of my favorite definitions of self-care |
| 2:01.7 | I learned a few months ago was from co-host of The Simple Show Kendra's writing. She said something |
